New UK Anime Blu-Ray Releases (24/1/11)

Aswell as reporting which imported anime Blu-rays work in the UK, i'll also be making posts when new Anime related Blu-rays are released in the UK - as new titles do tend to slip past un-noticed.

Not only that i'll also list the best websites, and prices, which have the product in-stock. As not all retailers stock them.

This week see's the release of the Anime-inspired "Dead Space: Aftermath" - which is being brought to us on DVD and Blu-ray via Manga Entertainment UK.

Both DVD & Blu-ray versions are being released as "stand-alone" units (i.e. Dead Space: Aftermatch on its own) or you can purhcase the "Double Pack" which features the recently released Dead Space: Aftermath as well as the original Dead Space: Downfall anime film all in one box and at a very "competitive price".

MangaUK Confirms Eden Of The East Movies on Blu-Ray

MangaUK have recently announced, via their Twitter feed, that they will be releasing the "Eden Of The East" Movies on both Blu-Ray and DVD in the UK, not only that the Anime Distributor has also announced an estimated release date for both movies, which will spread out over the course of this year.

Eden Of The East: King Of Eden - The story continues where it left off from the Eden of the East TV series, and brings Morimi Saki back to the USA in order to find Takizawa Akira. The other Selecao however are actively moving to take part in the game, and a few in particular are making dangerous moves in order to eliminate Takizawa or move towards their picture of a better Japan.


Eden Of The East: Paradise Lost - The story of political and subversive intrigue in the series finally reaches endgame. Even as the law enforcement net tightens around Saki and her fellow Eden of the East associates over alleged terrorist activities, the complex web surrounding the mysterious Mr. Outside is finally untangled as the remaining Selecao attempt to outmaneuver one another. Takizawa's memories and identity are also finally revealed including his association with a former Prime Minister and his request to be the King of Eden.

MangaUK have recently confirmed a UK Release date for Eureka Seven: The Movie on Blu-ray, which is Monday 18th April 2011 and can be pre-ordered from Amazon UK for £14.93 (including postage).

Evangelion 2.22 UK Blu-Ray Release Date Confirmed

Manga UK have recently confirmed this week via there Twitter feed that (Rebuild Of) Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 30th 2011, and that a special "packaging" edition may be released exclusively to HMV like last years Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone Blu-Ray set - which contained a carded sleeve, arttcards and a little booklet.

In Evangelion 2.22 NERV is Under constant attack by Angels, so NERV introduces two new pilots: the mysterious Mari Makinami Illustrious and the intense Asuka Langley Shikinami. Parallel to the incursion, Gendo Ikari and SEELE proceed the secret project that involves both Rei and Shinji, But only time will tell on what this "Secret project" actually is.

Evangelion 2.22 will shortly be available for pre-order from HMV UK, Play UK & Amazon UK - as well as various other online retailers - but as it stands the Release date for it is Monday 30th May 2011 (so mark it down in your calender), so in the mean time check out this English Evangelion 2.22 Trailer.

Plot: A Neo Zeon remnant group called the "Sleeves" travels to Side 4's Industrial 7 colony, so that its captain, Zinnerman, can receive a "key" to something known as "Laplace's Box" from Vist Foundation leader Cardeas Vist.

The item is said to be capable of either restoring the future or destroying the world. Audrey Burns seeks to meet Vist first and convince him not to turn over Laplace's Box, believing the Sleeves will use it to start another war.

Along the way, she is rescued by 16-year-old student Banagher Links, who agrees to take her to Vist. Meanwhile, a battle breaks out between the Federation's Londo Bell taskforce and the Sleeves.

As the collateral damage rises, the colony is evacuated. Amidst the chaos, Banagher discovers the fatally-wounded Cardeas Vist in the cockpit of the Unicorn Gundam. Before his death, Vist entrusts the Gundam to Banagher, who realizes that Vist is his father. Banagher then launches in the Unicorn and confronts the Sleeves' elite pilot, Marida Cruz, who is piloting the Kshatriya.
